Uniqueness

in the cryoWriter

The cryoWriter offers several unique features that were developed based on the varied needs in cryo-EM research. They offer great flexibility for the research community and allow every cryo-EM lab to adapt the cryoWriter to their very research focus, their needs and wishes.

Writing Patterns

The standard pattern is our proprietary spiral writing, but the cryoWriter offers great flexibility for simple line writing, spiral writing, special patterns, all with their own speed, volume and thickness.

Multi Sample Writing (MSW)

This mode allows to write several samples on the very same grid.

Multi Layer Writing (MLW)

The standard pattern is our proprietary spiral writing, but the cryoWriter offers great flexibility for simple line writing, spiral writing, special patterns, all with their own speed, volume and thickness.

Cell or Tissue Writing

With the optional built-in light microscope, samples like cells or tissue slices can be punched directly with the pipette and written on the grid,

Magnetic Trap (MagTrap)

With the MagTrap the cryoWriter offers another unique feature that allows for protein purification seamlessly integrated in the sample predation workflow. This not only saves time but enables the researchers to purify protein out of few nanometers. The MagTrap also offers the possibility to concentrate low-molar protein presence out of up to 1ml.

Computer Vision

Computer vision integrated in different places in the cryoWriter makes sure that grids are recognized and gripped correctly, sample volume can be applied with high precision, and interference patterns enable conclusions as to evaporation rates and water layer thickness.
