Mission

Empowering discovery at the molecular frontier cryoWrite envisions a world where the invisible becomes knowable through unmatched precision in cryogenic sample innovation.

Our mission is to transform cryo EM workflows by delivering precision tools that streamline sample preparation, reduce variability and sample volumes, and accelerated discovery.

Our History

Andreas.png

After many years of building up and engaging structural biology at the Biozentrum of University of Basel, and based of the increasing importance of cryo-EM in academic and pharmacaceutical research, Andreas Engel decided to address one of the most urgent bottle necks in cry-EM: automated sample grid preparation.

With his very energy and enthusiasm, with his deep expertise and knowledge and with a dedicated team of scientists and engineers, he founded cryoWrite  2020 in Basel, Switzerland.

cryoWrite built the first product prototype, the cryoWriter, and was able to place it with our first client in 2022 - three other prototypes followed in the coming years.
